More Local Stories
Al's Barbershop: How a gambling man won a barbershop and turned it into an Encinitas institution. Read about it here and then come to the Museum to see the actual artifacts from that era.
Prohibition in North County: Ever wonder how Moonlight Beach got its name? Some say it had something to do with rum-runners during Prohibition. Whether true or not, our local beaches served as a colorful backdrop to tough times during the depression.
Lagoon History: An airfield in the San Dieguito River Valley? For blimps? Strange, yet true!
